Tierra Madre Horse and Human Sanctuary

Tierra Madre Horse & Human Sanctuary is a nonprofit in Cave Creek, Arizona, that gives a forever home to previously abused, neglected, injured, abandoned, or surrendered horses. It describes itself as the only facility in Maricopa County that exclusively serves senior horses, most of whom have a chronic medical condition. The horses receive veterinary care from a partner clinic along with daily turnout, feed, and farrier care. The sanctuary also hosts visitors and volunteers and has offered human-centered programs such as equine experiential coaching.
